We are certified as Passive House Builders for our clients who desire a home that goes above and beyond the status quo: The Passive House Standard (Passivhaus) is redefining the building industry and has created a streamlined approach to achieve Net Zero Energy housing. This is a European origin building standard that aims to create highly energy-efficient and comfortable buildings while minimizing their environmental impact. This standard of building was developed in the late 1980s by Dr Wolfgang Feist and his first passive house was built in Darmstadt, Germany in the year 1990.
The core principles of this design protocol are as follows:
Buildings are heavily insulated to minimize heat loss and gain.
Structures are constructed to be airtight, reducing energy waste.
Windows and doors are designed to minimize heat transfer.
Mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery ensure fresh air circulation without energy loss.
Buildings are oriented to maximize sunlight and utilize high-performance glazing.
Passive Houses consume very little energy for heating and cooling.
We are a Passive House builder because we believe this design protocol is the most holistic approach to creating the most distinguished homes on planet Earth.
